This page links to a 15 minute video documentary of a Ch’a’ Cháak Ceremony that was conducted in Yaxunah on July 26, 2015. The Ch’a’ Cháak ceremony is a traditional Maya ceremony designed to appeal to the Maya rain god Cháak, asking for rain for their recently planted corn plants. This video was produced by students attending the 2015 Ethnobotany Field School in Yaxunah and is available in three language versions – English, Spanish, and Maya. This link is to the English language version of the video.
Several copies of a DVD with all three language versions of the ceremony are being produced and will be donated to the library in the Yaxunah Centro Cultural.
